L'avant projet de centre omnisport est déposé en 1959 par Lucien Metrich et Anatole Kopp. Le chantier est ouvert en 1968. Le plan de masse est réalisé par les architectes Rodier et Dumarcher. L'ensemble comporte un stade couvert composé de trois bâtiments dont une grande halle, un club d'aviron, les installations d'un boulodrome et un stade avec des tribunes couvertes. Le stade couvert a été réalisé par les architectes Chazanoff, Kopp et l'ingénieur Sarger. Le stade de plein air et les tribunes sont dus aux architectes Rodier et Dumarcher. La halle est couverte d'une surface en paraboloïde hyperbolique de 3000 m² et est composée d'un maillage de câbles prétendu entre des rives. Le bâtiment B, destiné à l'entraînement, comporte au sous-sol un bassin de natation, et aux étages des salles d'entraînement. Le troisième étage est occupé par des logements. History
The preliminary project for a multipurpose sports centre was submitted in 1959 by Lucien Metrich and Anatole Kopp. Construction began in 1968.
