Historique
Avec l'industrialisation de la proche banlieue, les grandes compagnies privées commencent à s'intéresser au transport des ouvriers et des marchandises sur de plus courtes distances. De vastres entrepôts ferroviaires sont construits pour assurer la maintenance du matériel. Le dépôt de la Plaine remonte à 1874. En avril 1944, un bombardement détruit en grande partie les bâtiments. Seuls subsistent, comme vestiges du premier emplacement, la maison du contremaître et l'emplacement du pont tournant. La reconstruction par les ingénieurs Sechaud et Metz est achevée en 1952. L'atelier de levage est reconstruit sur les restes d'un atelier préexistant datant de 1920. Cet atelier se divise en trois vaisseaux inégaux dont la structure générale est en poteaux de béton à remplissage de brique, chaque vaisseau étant couvert d'une voûte et d'une charpente en béton. L'atelier de réparation ferme en 1959. Arrêt définitif en 1990.

History
With the industrialisation of the nearby suburbs, major private companies begin to take an interest in the transport of workers and goods over shorter distances.
