Ensemble de logements sociaux construit par l'architecte Henri Sauvage de 1922 à 1927, suivant une commande de la Société des Habitations à Bon Marché de la Ville de Paris. Chaque logement possède une terrasse, grâce à la disposition en gradins. Ce système avait été conçu en 1909 par l'architecte qui l'a d'abord mis en oeuvre en 1912 pour son immeuble de la rue Vavin (voir notice PA00088645). Comme celui-ci, l'immeuble de la rue des Amiraux est entièrement revêtu de carreaux de faïence blanche type "métro", fournis par les établissements Boulenger à Choisy-le-Roi (94). L'immeuble de sept étages, construit en béton armé, s'organise autour d'une étroite cour centrale où est située une piscine, inaugurée en 1930 ; elle est entourée de deux niveaux de cabines et couverte par un lanterneau. Cette piscine, aujourd'hui municipale, a été réhabilitée en 1982 par les architectes Daniel et Patrick Rubin (agence Canal).

History
A set of social housing built by the architect Henri Sauvage from 1922 to 1927, following a commission from the Société des Habitations à Bon Marché of the City of Paris. Each dwelling has a terrace, thanks to the stepped arrangement. This system had been devised in 1909 by the architect who first implemented it in 1912 for his building on rue Vavin (see notice PA00088645). Like that one, the building on rue des Amiraux is entirely covered with white "métro" type faience tiles, supplied by the Boulenger establishments at Choisy-le-Roi (94). The seven-storey building, constructed in reinforced concrete, is organized around a narrow central court where a swimming pool is located, inaugurated in 1930; it is surrounded by two levels of cabins and covered by a lantern roof. This swimming pool, now municipal, was rehabilitated in 1982 by the architects Daniel and Patrick Rubin (Canal agency).
