L'édifice s'élève de part et d'autre d'une portion du mur de l'enceinte urbaine et fut l'objet de plusieurs campagnes de travaux, à partir du 16ème siècle, à l'emplacement d'un bâtiment plus ancien. La demeure se compose d'un logis de plan irrégulier, d'une tour d'escalier de plan polygonal hors-oeuvre au nord et d'anciens communs vers l'est. Le bâtiment conserve, à l'intérieur, des éléments de son décor du 18ème siècle. Racheté par le département en 1822, l'immeuble a abrité la gendarmerie jusqu'en 1976.

History
The building rises on either side of a portion of the urban fortification wall and was the subject of several work campaigns, from the 16th century onwards, on the site of an older building. The residence is composed of a main dwelling of irregular plan, a polygonal plan staircase tower projecting to the north and former outbuildings to the east. The building retains, inside, elements of its 18th century decoration. Repurchased by the department in 1822, the building housed the gendarmerie until 1976.
