Ce phare, bâti dès 1834 sous la direction de l'ingénieur Jules Dufresne sera achevé en 1837. En 1906, il est équipé d'une lentille de Fresnel qui en fait l'un des plus puissants de la Méditerranée. Electrifié en 1952, il est finalement automatisé en 1971. Il est implanté au centre d'une terrasse et se présente sous la forme d'une tour carrée à un niveau centrée sur un soubassement carré. History
This lighthouse, built from 1834 under the direction of engineer Jules Dufresne, was completed in 1837. In 1906, it was equipped with a Fresnel lens which made it one of the most powerful in the Mediterranean. Electrified in 1952, it was finally automated in 1971. It is located at the centre of a terrace and takes the form of a square tower at one level centred on a square base. Within the tower, cylindrical on the inside, is arranged a staircase with a suspended helical flight in stone.
