Ce château, attesté à l'époque médiévale, fut entièrement reconstruit à la fin du 16ème siècle et du tout début du 17ème siècle par la famille de Lavalette. Il fut ensuite réaménagé aux 18ème et 19ème siècles, en particulier l'aile sud. Le château conserve des décors de très grande qualité datant de l'époque de sa construction, notamment les cheminées monumentales du rez-de-chaussée et de l'étage, ainsi que des plafonds peints et des peintures murales encore visibles.

History
This château, attested to in the medieval period, was entirely rebuilt at the end of the 16th century and the very beginning of the 17th century by the de Lavalette family. It was subsequently remodelled in the 18th and 19th centuries, in particular the south wing. The château retains decorations of very high quality dating from the period of its construction, notably the monumental fireplaces on the ground floor and first floor, as well as painted ceilings and wall paintings still visible.
