Historique

History
Originally, the castle deployed two wings on either side of the keep. Only the main dwelling remains, flanked by a tower outside the wall which contains the spiral staircase. The core of this building dates essentially to the 14th-15th centuries (mullioned window, pointed arch door) extended and transformed in the 18th century. It is in this part that the present main dwelling is found, which rises on a base formed by a room vaulted with ribs. The whole was probably enclosed by walls flanked, at the angles, by round towers. Only the one situated to the south, on the edge of the ravine, remains, which was later transformed into a pigeon loft. Encircled by a drip-moulding to protect it from rodents, it is divided into three levels. The first and third are vaulted in rubble; the second has a floor. Access is made to the upper floor by a door decorated with a coat of arms and an ogival arch. The building was constructed by the family of La Valette.
