La synagogue de Versailles fut édifiée en 1884 selon les plans de l'architecte Alfred-Philibert Aldrophe et inaugurée en septembre 1886. Cet ensemble comprend le temple proprement dit et un immeuble attenant dans lequel se trouvent un petit oratoire et les appartements du rabbin et du ministre-officiant. De style néo-roman, l'édifice principal est dominé par un vitrail en forme de rosace qui occupe le milieu de la façade, flanquée de deux tours carrées et surmontée du rouleau de la Thora. History
The Versailles synagogue was built in 1884 according to the plans of architect Alfred-Philibert Aldrophe and inaugurated in September 1886. This complex comprises the temple proper and an adjoining building in which are found a small oratory and the apartments of the rabbi and the minister-officiant. Of neo-Romanesque style, the main building is dominated by a stained glass window in the shape of a rose window which occupies the middle of the facade, flanked by two square towers and topped with the Torah scroll. Inside, the furnishings of the temple are quite austere, unlike the oratory which contains the Ark of the Covenant of Renaissance style and a painted and gilded wooden lectern
