History
Villa commissioned from the architect André Lurçat in 1924 by the lawyer and art collector Edmond Bomsel. Because of the "damp basement" of Versailles, the residence is raised, the ground floor being reserved for automobile garage, services and servants' rooms. The construction in reinforced concrete, the sobriety of the design and the rigour of the proportions of this villa make it a manifesto of the movement known as "international". The garden composed of mineral elements was also designed by Lurçat.
