Le cirque-théâtre, construit par les architectes elbeuviens Laquierre père et fils et l'entrepreneur elbeuvien Henry Blanchet, a été inauguré en 1892. Sa capacité d'accueil était de 2000 places à l'origine. C'est le premier cirque en dur de cette ville : structure de fonte et charpente en fer. Il possède des espaces annexes de dégagement et des écuries. Il a été transformé en cinéma en 1942. La ville l'a acquis en 1957 et l'a transformé en 1967 pour y aménager la Maison des Syndicats, des Anciens Combattants et une salle de gymnastique.

History
The circus-theatre, built by Elbeuf architects Laquierre father and son and Elbeuf contractor Henry Blanchet, was inaugurated in 1892. Its original capacity was 2000 seats. It is the first permanent circus in this city: cast iron structure and iron roof structure. It possesses annexe spaces for circulation and stables. It was converted into a cinema in 1942.
