Batterie d'artillerie côtière appartenant au système défensif dit Mur de l'Atlantique, située au nord de la forteresse du Havre, et comprenant au total plus d'une trentaine d'ouvrages : encuvements, abris, quatre casemates type R 671 (mise en service 1943) , un poste de direction de tir, des abris pour munition type R 607, et un ensemble dit base-vie (abri infirmerie, casernements, abris à personnel, etc.) , dont beaucoup sont reliés par des galeries souterraines. Des traces de camouflage sont encore visibles sur les casemates ; certains abris ont été ornés de peintures et d'inscriptions par les soldats allemands. La batterie n'a été que peu bombardée en 1944 et elle subsiste aujourd'hui dans sa plus grande partie

History
Coastal artillery battery belonging to the defensive system called the Atlantic Wall, situated to the north of the fortress of Le Havre, and comprising in total more than thirty structures: gun emplacements, shelters, four R 671 type casemates (put into service 1943), a fire control post, ammunition shelters type R 607, and a complex known as base-vie (infirmary shelter, barracks, personnel shelters, etc.), many of which are connected by underground galleries. Traces of camouflage are still visible on the casemates; some shelters were decorated with paintings and inscriptions by German soldiers. The battery was only lightly bombed in 1944 and it survives today in its greater part.
