Ouvrage fortifié de plan standard R 634, construit par les Allemands en 1943 ou début 1944 et faisant partie du système fortifié du hameau de Dondeneville, lui-même partie constituante de la forteresse du Havre (Mur de l'Atlantique). Il fut pris en même temps que tout le plateau de Dondeneville par les Britanniques le 11 septembre 1944. C'est le seul ouvrage de la forteresse du Havre, construit en béton armé et acier, à posséder encore sa cloche d'observation blindée, presque entièrement enterrée, avec une partie de ses équipements intérieurs. L'édifice comporte un sas d'entrée, une caponnière pour mitrailleuse, une salle de ventilation, une salle de troupe et une salle circulaire donnant accès à la cloche. Celle-ci est encore présente.

History
Fortified work of standard plan R 634, built by the Germans in 1943 or early 1944 and forming part of the fortified system of the hamlet of Dondeneville, itself a constituent part of the fortress of Le Havre (Atlantic Wall). It was taken at the same time as the entire Dondeneville plateau by the British on 11 September 1944. It is the only work of the Le Havre fortress, built in reinforced concrete and steel, still to possess its armoured observation bell, almost entirely buried, with part of its interior equipment. The building comprises an entrance lock, a loophole for machine-gun, a ventilation room, a troop room and a circular room giving access to the bell. The latter is still present.
