History
This site is part of the lacustrine settlements studied in the Rhône-Alpes region containing the vestiges of human occupation in wet environments, of habitation as well as the supporting piles of wooden buildings, still visible. These testimonies ranging from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age constitute one of the major themes of European prehistory. This is a site of the Early Bronze Age, 19th and 18th centuries BC. The remains were only reported in 1989. Since then, studies and surveys have highlighted a very good readability of the built installations, as well as an architectural organisation related to the plan of the first village of Concise-sous-Colachoz, on the Neufchâtel lake, for the same period.
