This site is part of the lacustrine settlements studied in the Rhône-Alpes region containing the vestiges of human occupation in a wet environment, of the habitat as well as the support posts of wooden buildings, still visible. These testimonies ranging from the Neolithic to the Bronze Age constitute one of the great themes of European prehistory. It is a site of the Final Bronze Age for the periods of the 15th and 11th-9th centuries BC. The island under the lake has been explored since 1856 and several finds have been extracted from it, including a pottery kiln. The studies and soundings carried out since have made it possible to demonstrate the certain archaeological interest of the selected perimeter.
