"Le monument d'Aix-les-Bains est un des plus connus et publiés (par le service de l'Inventaire et l'archiviste municipal J. Lagrange) de la région. Dû également à A. Boucher (1922), il se compose d'un fût surmonté d'un groupe de soldats et de figures placées debout ou assises et appuyées sur ce support. Des poilus émergent du sol dans la partie inférieure du monument. Il est localisé square A. Boucher, dans un lieu d'entrée dans la ville, très passant. Il adopte une même technique de modelage sur ciment dont Boucher a laissé plusieurs témoignages à Aix. Les questions de sociabilité sont essentielles dans le choix de Boucher, qui a établi sa résidence estivale à Aix ; le maire va jusqu'à annuler le concours lancé pour opter pour Boucher dans la réalisation du monument.
