Historique
La fontaine a été édifiée au nord-est du village, au pied du château. Construite en 1820-1821 sur les plans de l'architecte Georges Costain, elle réunit lavoir, abreuvoir et fontaine, et présente un plan en arc de cercle axé sur l'édicule qui abrite la fontaine. La galerie couverte qui abritait les laveuses s'ouvre sur les bassins par une colonnade, prévue en bois par l'architecte, mais construite en pierre en 1821. En 1861, la fontaine a été déplacée de quelques mètres vers le nord.

History
The fountain was erected north-east of the village, at the foot of the castle. Built in 1820-1821 according to the plans of architect Georges Costain, it combines wash-house, watering trough and fountain, and presents a semi-circular plan centred on the aedicule that houses the fountain. The covered gallery that sheltered the laundresses opens onto the basins through a colonnade, planned in wood by the architect, but built in stone in 1821. In 1861, the fountain was moved a few metres to the north.
