Historique
Complément indispensable de la maison-forte de Sorans-les-Breurey, le moulin banal naurait été implanté à son emplacement actuel quau début du 18e siècle. En 1858, cinq roues hydrauliques mettent en mouvement quatre paires de meules et une scierie, reconstruite à lextrême fin du siècle et augmentée dun battoir. Moulin et battoir cessent de fonctionner avant 1914, tandis que la scierie perdure jusque dans les années 1930. Sa complémentarité avec la volumétrie de la maison-forte voisine, lexistence dun projet de mise en valeur et la conservation des installations de meunerie (quatre paires de meule, dont une pour broyer le chanvre, bluteries, machine à battre) lui ont valu dêtre le premier moulin protégé dans la région.£

History
An essential complement to the fortified house of Sorans-les-Breurey, the seigneurial mill would not have been installed at its present location until the early 18th century. In 1858, five water wheels set in motion four pairs of millstones and a sawmill, rebuilt at the very end of the century and augmented by a beater. Mill and beater ceased to function before 1914, while the sawmill continued into the 1930s. Its complementarity with the volume of the neighbouring fortified house, the existence of a project for its enhancement and the preservation of the milling installations (four pairs of millstones, one of which for grinding hemp, bolter sieves, threshing machine) earned it the distinction of being the first mill protected in the region.
