A partir de 1926, la Société des Mines de Potasse d'Alsace (M.D.P.A.) a construit au sud de Wittelsheim, dans la cité minière Grassegert, sa salle des fêtes par excellence, qui est devenue le centre de la vie sociale et associative de l'ensemble du bassin minier. History
From 1926 onwards, the Société des Mines de Potasse d'Alsace (M.D.P.A.) built to the south of Wittelsheim, in the Grassegert mining settlement, its par excellence festival hall, which became the centre of the social and associative life of the entire mining basin. It is distinguished by technical arrangements and equipment, which constitute its particularity: lowering of the hall in relation to lateral spaces, removable partitions, occludable zenith lighting. This building constitutes an essential element of the life of the workers' movement in the potash mining basin. It was a place of gathering on the occasion of the major demonstrations of 1936.
