Le château est établi sur un site fossoyé associant motte, fossé et basse-cour. Reconstruit à la fin du 15e siècle, il fut pendant quelques années et jusqu'à sa mort le séjour de Marguerite de Navarre. Son aspect actuel remonte au milieu du 19e siècle. Le propriétaire fit appel à Auguste Virebent qui enveloppa le château d'un décor de terre cuite, donnant à l'ensemble un aspect troubadour.

History
The castle is established on a ditched site combining a motte, ditch and bailey. Rebuilt at the end of the 15th century, it was for several years until her death the residence of Marguerite de Navarre. Its present appearance dates from the middle of the 19th century.
