Description
Bâtie en angle droit et sur un niveau unique, la villa « Sugulna » présente une forme irrégulière tant au niveau de sa hauteur (variable d'une section à l'autre), que de ses façades (marquées par des renfoncements et ces avancées). Les vues aériennes de la maison rendent visibles une impression de blocs imbriqués les uns dans les autres, du fait notamment de murets sur le toit dessinant son plan et la répartition de ses différentes pièces. La maison présente différentes formes de baies, notamment coulissantes et pivotantes. Au niveau de ses intérieurs, la villa est compartimentée en trois espaces selon un plan rendu relativement lisible par son emprise formant un angle droit : une aile de service au Nord-Est, une aile parentale au Sud-Est, et une aile dévolue aux enfants au Sud-Ouest. Un espace central les relie, accueillant notamment un séjour, une salle-à-manger, et un espace pour la cheminée conçu de manière très sculpturale.

An important representative of Bordeaux architecture in the second half of the 20th century, Yves Salier (1918-2013) creates the villa 'Sugulna' (named after a fabulous beast appearing notably on the coat of arms of the Town of Saint-Pierre-d'Irube) for the Fourquet family in 1973.
Description
Built at right angles and on a single level, the villa "Sugulna" presents an irregular form both in terms of its height (variable from one section to another) and its façades (marked by recesses and projections). Aerial views of the house reveal an impression of blocks interlocked with one another, notably due to low walls on the roof outlining its plan and the distribution of its various rooms. The house presents different forms of openings, notably sliding and pivoting ones. In terms of its interiors, the villa is compartmentalised into three spaces according to a plan made relatively legible by its footprint forming a right angle: a service wing to the North-East, a master wing to the South-East, and a wing devoted to children to the South-West. A central space connects them, accommodating notably a living area, a dining room, and a space for the fireplace designed in a very sculptural manner.
