Cet ancien Jeu de Paume fut construit, pour un usage privé, à la fin du 17ème siècle ou au début du 18ème, contre la demeure d'une famille d'aristocrates de la ville. Les lieux devinrent espace public à la fin du 18ème siècle. La maison noble fut remplacée, en 1842, par l'édifice actuel et l'agrandissement du Jeu de Paume eut lieu vers 1900 et fut ainsi convertit en trinquet. L'aire de jeu a conservé une bonne partie de sa disposition originelle: deux galeries sur trois, pavage de larges dalles, emplacement du filet, etc. Un balcon d'arbitrage et une tribune complètent les installations

History
This former Jeu de Paume was constructed, for private use, at the end of the 17th century or beginning of the 18th, against the residence of a family of city aristocrats. The premises became public space at the end of the 18th century. The noble house was replaced, in 1842, by the current building and the enlargement of the Jeu de Paume took place around 1900 and was thus converted into a trinquet. The playing area has preserved a large part of its original layout: two galleries out of three, paving of large flagstones, position of the net, etc. An umpire's balcony and a grandstand complete the installations.
