Le château a conservé sa structure médiévale remontant au 14e ou 15e siècle : quatre tours d'angle reliées par des corps de logis disposés autour d'une cour intérieure. A l'époque moderne, l'édifice connut d'importantes campagnes de rénovation qui en firent un logis résidentiel doté de détails architecturaux intéressants et de décors intérieurs remarquables (plafonds à solives, décor peint, salon Rocaille du 18e...). L'ensemble peint de la galerie sud s'inspire pour partie d'un cycle de gravures du peintre flamand Martin de Vos sur un thème allégorique à connotation religieuse et morale (vices et vertus).

History
The castle has preserved its medieval structure dating from the 14th or 15th century: four corner towers connected by wings disposed around an inner courtyard. In the modern period, the building underwent major renovation campaigns which made it a residential dwelling with interesting architectural details and remarkable interior decoration (beam ceilings, painted decoration, 18th century Rocaille salon...). The painted ensemble of the south gallery is inspired in part by a cycle of engravings by the Flemish painter Martin de Vos on an allegorical theme with religious and moral connotation (vices and virtues).
