Historique
Le patronage de cette église appartenait à l'abbaye de Manglieu qui possédait un prieuré à Bongheat. L'édifice est constitué d'une nef romane (12e siècle) et d'un choeur gothique (14e siècle) à cinq pans orné de fenêtres à meneaux. Le choeur est voûté de six branches d'ogives rayonnant à partir d'une clef sculptée d'une tête au milieu de feuillages. Les fenêtres sont chacune à deux formes tréflées surmontées d'un quadrilobe. Clocher du 19e siècle. La travée située sous le clocher est recouverte d'une coupole sur trompes, comme le sont habituellement les transepts romans de cette région.

History
The patronage of this church belonged to the abbey of Manglieu which possessed a priory at Bongheat. The building consists of a Romanesque nave (12th century) and a Gothic choir (14th century) with five sides ornamented with mullioned windows. The choir is vaulted with six branches of ribs radiating from a key-stone carved with a head in the midst of foliage. The windows are each of two trefoil forms surmounted by a quatrefoil. Bell tower of the 19th century. The bay situated under the bell tower is covered with a dome on squinches, as are usually the Romanesque transepts of this region.
