Historique
Manufacture fondée en 1869 par E. Rouher. Les bâtiments furent construits entre 1877 et 1883 par l'ingénieur Dargnies. En 1907, ils sont agrandis par l'adjonction de petits bâtiments puis, en 1932-1936, par la construction d'un grand bâtiment d'exploitation côté est. La manufacture reprend le plan-type élaboré vers 1850 pour les manufactures de Châteauroux et Nantes. Plan en H, barré à l'avant et à l'arrière pour former deux cours. Une cheminée en briques s'élève au-dessus d'un pavillon en briques et pierre situé dans la cour arrière. A l'entrée de l'usine, une maison de directeur adopte l'aspect d'une maison bourgeoise à deux étages et combles brisés.

History
Manufacture founded in 1869 by E. Rouher. The buildings were constructed between 1877 and 1883 by engineer Dargnies. In 1907, they were enlarged by the addition of small buildings and then, in 1932-1936, by the construction of a large exploitation building on the east side. The manufacture follows the standard plan developed around 1850 for the manufactories of Châteauroux and Nantes. H-shaped plan, barred at the front and back to form two courtyards. A brick chimney rises above a pavilion in brick and stone located in the rear courtyard. At the entrance to the factory, a director's house takes the appearance of a bourgeois house with two storeys and mansard roof.
