Historique
Construit en 1833 par Attiret de Manneville, l'abattoir public de Riom fut transformé en caserne en 1858. Les corps de bâtiments allongés disposés autour d'une cour rectangulaire furent aménagés en écuries au niveau du rez-de-chaussée et une porte monumentale aux armes du régiment de hussards fut élevée à l'entrée. Déclarée insalubre, la caserne fut désaffectée en 1910.

History
Constructed in 1833 by Attiret de Manneville, the public abattoir of Riom was transformed into a barracks in 1858. The elongated buildings arranged around a rectangular courtyard were fitted out as stables at ground level and a monumental door bearing the arms of the hussars regiment was erected at the entrance. Declared unhealthy, the barracks was decommissioned in 1910.
