Historique
La Société Coopérative dite des Mineurs de Noeux-les-Mines fut fondée le 1er mars 1876 par la Compagnie des Mines. Son objectif était de permettre à ses actionnaires d'accéder à tous les produits de consommation usuelle sans subir la hausse exagérée des prix. En 1900, la société possédait quatre maisons de vente à Noeux, au Coron de la fosse n°3, à Hersin et à Barlin. Les bâtiments de la coopérative furent bombardés au cours du mois de novembre 1915. Après la guerre, la marquise en métal qui couvrait la porte centrale au-dessus du quai fut remplacée par un toit surplombant la quasi totalité du quai. La coopérative fut édifiée le long de la voie ferrée de la compagnie dans une enceinte triangulaire. Elle se composait d'un long bâtiment et de plusieurs ailes. Des quais de chargement-déchargement ainsi que des espaces de stockage complétaient l'ensemble, prolongé par deux annexes, le four à pain d'un côté et les bureaux de l'autre.

History
The Cooperative Society called the Miners of Noeux-les-Mines was founded on 1 March 1876 by the Compagnie des Mines. Its objective was to enable its shareholders to access all usual consumer products without suffering exaggerated price increases. In 1900, the society owned four sales houses at Noeux, at the Coron of pit no. 3, at Hersin and at Barlin. The buildings of the cooperative were bombed in the month of November 1915. After the war, the metal marquee that covered the central door above the quay was replaced by a roof overhanging almost the entire quay. The cooperative was built along the company's railway line within a triangular enclosure. It consisted of a long building and several wings. Loading and unloading quays as well as storage spaces completed the ensemble, extended by two annexes, the bread oven on one side and the offices on the other.
