History
In 1859, a pit is sunk by the Douvrin company, Lens coal mines company. Destroyed during the First World War. The buildings are reconstructed in 1920 in the style of the Lens coal mines company which wanted uniform architectural style allowing identification of its properties. The headframe is in concrete, the roof in the form of a small bell-tower contains a water reservoir. This is the last remaining vestige of a concrete headframe of the 'Lens mines' type.
