Historique
Construite aux frais de Charles Antoine de Bernard, marquis d'Avernes, l'église est achevée en 1813. Son parti architectural en brique s'explique par la présence d'une briqueterie en face du chemin communal. Elle prend place entre le presbytère et le château aujourd'hui disparu. Il s'agit d'un modèle d'édifices religieux antérieur au courant néo-classique à l'antique. Son plan à nef unique, faux transept, sacristie et chapelle des Avernes, dénote un souci de cohérence. L'église a conservé l'ensemble de son agencement, y compris le dallage et la totalité des verrières. La flèche du clocher a été reconstruite à l'identique, suite aux dégâts de la tempête de 1999.

History
Built at the expense of Charles Antoine de Bernard, marquis d'Avernes, the church is completed in 1813. Its architectural character in brick is explained by the presence of a brick works opposite the communal path. It takes its place between the presbytery and the castle now disappeared. It is a model of religious buildings prior to the neo-classical to the antique movement. Its plan with single nave, false transept, sacristy and Avernes chapel, denotes a concern for coherence. The church has preserved the whole of its fittings, including the flooring and all of the stained-glass windows. The spire of the bell tower was rebuilt identically, following damage from the storm of 1999.
