In the 18th century, the religious of the neighbouring priory of Friardel, of the order of the Canons Regular of Saint-Augustine, possessed substantial property in the parish of sancti Cirici de Ostrencuria thanks to the generosity of Guillaume de Friardel. The cure of Estrancourt remained in the hands of Friardel until the Revolution. The church was attached to the commune of Avernes-Saint-Gourgon upon its union with Saint-Cyr-d'Estrancourt in 1821. The church of Saint-Cyr-d'Estrancourt can be dated to the first half of the 11th century. Its plan, comprising a flat chevet set back from the nave, responds to a design combining simplicity and economy of execution. The masonry is composed of irregularly squared sandstone rubble. The portal and its counterpart, blocked to the south, differ by an alternation of sandstone and pudding stone in the execution of the jambs and archvolts. At the end of the 15th century, some openings were altered to provide more light. A bell tower was raised on the roof structure and the west gable was rebuilt. The coffered roof structure was remade economically, the wall plates resting directly on the base of the roof walls, allowing air to circulate and ventilate the entire roof. In the 17th century, a sacristy was added against the chevet. The interior of the church offers much atmosphere with the presence of four wooden posts supporting the bell tower. Moveable objects contribute to the rustic charm of the place.
