Un concours est ouvert en 1875 pour la reconstruction de l'église du quartier de Montsort. Le premier prix revient à l'architecte Hédin. History
A competition is opened in 1875 for the reconstruction of the church in the Montsort district. First prize goes to the architect Hédin. After the definitive finalisation of the project of a neo-Romanesque building with three naves, façade bell tower and choir with a bay forming an ambulatory, the architect is replaced by Lheureux. The work begins in 1880. The final phase concerns the construction of the sacristy to the south, in 1888 and the realisation of the interior decoration in 1889. The mosaics are the work of the Facchina workshop. The accompanying paintings are due to André Barillet. The iconographic programme is oriented around the cult of Mary in its specific votive components such as the rosary, veneration by Simon Stock and the appearance to Bernadette Soubirou.
