This Carthusian monastery was founded in 1170 by the count of Perche. A first church was consecrated in 1181. The estate expanded in the 13th century, but many destructions occurred during the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion. In the 18th century, the perimeter wall was rebuilt, the great cloister renovated, etc. The new buildings are arranged from a rigid central axis in a composition alternating French parterres and hedgerows, vegetable and fruit gardens. During the Revolution, the buildings were pillaged and movable objects dispersed. Only the gatehouse, the Ladies' chapel and the pharmacy built in 1760 survived.
