Historique
Le prieuré de Dame-Marie était une dépendance de l'abbaye de Jumièges dès le 11e siècle. Du ressort de Bellême au milieu du 15e siècle, il bénéficiait d'exemption des droits de coutume. Vendu comme bien national à la Révolution à des propriétaires privés, il fut démembré en 1867 : la commune acquit l'église et le logis du prieur, tandis que la ferme, la grange et la porterie échurent à des personnes privées. Des modifications importantes sont intervenues depuis le début du 19e siècle : un clocher est venu couronner malencontreusement l'église, une restauration radicale a fait perdre le cachet ancien du logis du prieur, aménagé en salle des fêtes. La porterie date du 14e siècle, perpendiculairement à celle-ci, une grange datant de l'an I de l'Ampire (sic) français a conservé ses dispositions d'origine.

History
The priory of Dame-Marie was a dependency of Jumièges abbey from the 11th century. Under the jurisdiction of Bellême in the middle of the 15th century, it benefited from exemption of customs dues. Sold as national property at the Revolution to private owners, it was dismembered in 1867: the commune acquired the church and the prior's lodging, while the farm, the barn and the gatehouse fell to private persons. Important modifications took place from the beginning of the 19th century: a bell tower unfortunately came to crown the church, a radical restoration caused the loss of the old character of the prior's lodging, fitted out as a festival hall. The gatehouse dates from the 14th century, perpendicular to it, a barn dating from Year I of the French Empire (sic) has preserved its original layout.
