Historique
En 1907, la Compagnie des Mines acquit une partie de la forêt située à Raismes afin d'y forer un nouveau puits, la fosse Sabatier. Des logements furent construits pour accueillir de nombreux ouvriers. La Cité du Pinson fut construite de 1911 à 1926 sur le modèle de la cité-jardin. Après la guerre, de nombreux ouvriers polonais furent appelés à travailler dans les mines de la région. Ils construisirent l'église Sainte-Cécile et son presbytère en 1924. L'église fut entièrement ravagée par un incendie en 1975. Seule la sacristie résista au feu et conserve toujours son parement de bois d'origine. L'église fut reconstruite à l'identique.

History
In 1907, the Mining Company acquired part of the forest situated at Raismes in order to sink a new pit there, the Sabatier colliery. Dwellings were built to accommodate numerous workers. The Cité du Pinson was built from 1911 to 1926 on the model of the garden city. After the war, many Polish workers were called upon to work in the mines of the region. They built the church of Sainte-Cécile and its presbytery in 1924. The church was completely devastated by a fire in 1975. Only the sacristy withstood the fire and still retains its original wood panelling. The church was rebuilt identically.
