La fosse dite «Sabatier», de la Compagnie des Mines d'Anzin, fut créée en juillet 1910 lorsque fut creusé un premier puits. La Grande guerre interrompit le processus d'exploitation qui prit réellement son essor en octobre 1920. Au moment de la nationalisation, la fosse conserva son autonomie et fut modernisée en 1955. En 1956, le chevalement n°2 fut remplacé par celui en place actuellement, réemploi de la fosse n°1-1bis de La Clarence du Groupe d'Auchel. Lors de son installation à Sabatier, deux poussards furent ajoutés et la machine d'extraction remplacée par une autre plus puissante. Dès août 1957, la fosse Sabatier, qui avait achevé sa phase de modernisation, reprit l'exploitation de la fosse n°3 de Vicoigne. En 1974, on regroupa au site celui de La Grange. Le site ferma en mai 1980 et les puits n°1 et 2 furent remblayés en 1985. Le chevalement n°1 fut abattu en 1986 et le faux-carré du chevalement n°2 fut démantelé peu après. Toutefois, le chevalement fut conservé. La commune de Raismes se porta acquéreur de la fosse en 1994 et l'ensemble, avec les terrils, fut transformé en sentiers de randonnée pédestre.

History
The pit known as "Sabatier", of the Anzin Mining Company, was created in July 1910 when a first shaft was sunk. The Great War interrupted the exploitation process which really gained momentum in October 1920. At the time of nationalization, the pit retained its autonomy and was modernized in 1955. In 1956, headframe no. 2 was replaced by the one currently in place, a reuse from pit no. 1-1bis of La Clarence of the Auchel Group. When installed at Sabatier, two pushers were added and the extraction machine replaced by a more powerful one. From August 1957, the Sabatier pit, which had completed its modernization phase, resumed exploitation of pit no. 3 of Vicoigne. In 1974, La Grange site was consolidated at this site. The site closed in May 1980 and pits no. 1 and 2 were filled in 1985. Headframe no. 1 was demolished in 1986 and the false-square of headframe no. 2 was dismantled shortly after. However, the headframe was preserved. The commune of Raismes became owner of the pit in 1994 and the whole site, with the spoil heaps, was transformed into hiking trails.
