History
In 1787, a decision is taken to rebuild the guardhouse of the Place d'Armes and the belfry. The decision requires the purchase and destruction of five small houses built on part of the land. A convention divides the land ownership and construction costs between the king and the city. Work is completed in 1789. The adjoining houses, reproducing an elevation model identical to the guardhouse building, are probably contemporary. The house numbered 22 exists in 1798.
