Il s'agit d'une maison de maître, ancien presbytère de l'église de Saint-Wasnon, datant de la première moitié du 17ème siècle. La salle de la corporation des bateliers a été aménagée au cours de la deuxième moitié du 18ème siècle, au nord-est de l'étage de l'édifice dont la distribution semble avoir subi des modifications au 19ème siècle, sans incidence toutefois sur la salle elle-même. Cependant, des éléments d'origine subsistent; ainsi l'escalier jusqu'au premier étage, les poutres moulurées du plafond de la cuisine, de la pièce derrière celle-ci et de la chambre du sud-ouest. Une aile basse fut élevée dans les années 1930. Les percements et l'enduit de la façade principale datent de cette même époque. La salle des bateliers est couverte d'un plafond à compartiments au décor mouluré : initiales de la couronne ducale du duc de Croÿ et ancres croisées des bateliers. Les poutres sont ornées de ces mêmes ancres se superposant aux initiales de Croÿ. La salle, lambrissée de chêne peint en blanc, comporte deux placards ainsi qu'un décor mural composé de toiles peintes. Le décor de cette salle ne forme pas, en dépit des apparences, un ensemble homogène. Il fait cohabiter, en effet, des éléments contemporains du principat du duc, protecteur de la corporation des bateliers, avec d'autres qui sont le résultat de remontages. Ainsi, le décor du plafond, le manteau de cheminée, les toiles peintes et la fenêtre datent du 18ème siècle. Le trumeau de cheminée et les placards sont du 18ème siècle également mais remontés. En ce qui concerne le tableau disposé en-dessus de porte, s'il remonte au 18ème siècle, son positionnement actuel est plus récent, peut-être autour de 1930. History
This is a manor house, former presbytery of the church of Saint-Wasnon, dating from the first half of the 17th century. The hall of the boatmen's guild was fitted out in the course of the second half of the 18th century, to the north-east of the upper floor of the building whose distribution appears to have undergone modifications in the 19th century, without impact however on the hall itself. However, original elements subsist; thus the staircase up to the first floor, the moulded beams of the ceiling of the kitchen, of the room behind it and of the south-west bedroom. A low wing was raised in the 1930s. The openings and render of the main façade date from this same period. The boatmen's hall is covered by a compartmented ceiling with moulded decoration: initials of the ducal crown of the Duke of Croÿ and crossed anchors of the boatmen. The beams are ornamented with these same anchors superimposed on the initials of Croÿ. The hall, wainscoted in oak painted white, comprises two cupboards as well as mural decoration composed of painted canvases. The decoration of this hall does not form, despite appearances, a homogeneous ensemble. It in fact brings together elements contemporary with the principate of the Duke, protector of the boatmen's guild, with others which are the result of remounting. Thus, the ceiling decoration, the fireplace mantelpiece, the painted canvases and the window date from the 18th century. The chimney breast and the cupboards are also from the 18th century but remounted. As for the painting placed above the door, if it dates back to the 18th century, its current positioning is more recent, perhaps around 1930.
