History
Buges is the junction point of the three canals of Briare, Orléans and Loing since 1724 (end of construction of the Loing canal). Located near the former paper mill, the site comprises a lock, a house rebuilt around 1820 which housed the lodgings of the lock keeper and the inspector (distributed by two corridors and two staircases), a large metal towpath footbridge above the Orléans canal, a second footbridge and an overflow weir on the Solin river.
