La maison du directeur des canaux est un édifice construit à la fin du 17e siècle le long du canal, au nord de Cepoy, par Nicolas Cadot, directeur général jusqu'en 1692. On l'appelle également le magasin car elle était située jusqu'au 19e siècle au milieu des magasins et des ateliers du canal, où les charpentiers et serruriers assemblaient les portes d'écluse. L'édifice, composé d'un long corps aux baies cintrées, est flanqué de pavillons latéraux et couvert de toitures brisées. Il est aujourd'hui très transformé (anciennes ouvertures cimentées et adjonction de verrues modernes) et utilisé comme auberge de jeunesse. Il ne faut pas confondre cet édifice avec le château de Cepoy, situé au centre du bourg, et qui fut la résidence du receveur général puis du conservateur du canal.

History
The house of the director of the canals is a building constructed at the end of the 17th century along the canal, north of Cepoy, by Nicolas Cadot, director general until 1692. It is also called the warehouse because it was located until the 19th century in the middle of the canal's warehouses and workshops, where carpenters and locksmiths assembled the lock gates. The building, composed of a long section with arched openings, is flanked by lateral pavilions and covered with mansard roofs. It is today very much altered (old openings cemented over and addition of modern excrescences) and used as a youth hostel. It should not be confused with the château of Cepoy, located in the centre of the village, which was the residence of the general receiver and then of the conservator of the canal.
