L'histoire de cet édifice est peu documentée mais se rattache à une période marquante pour Châtillon-sur-Loire, celle des guerres de religion, que la ville traversa sous l'influence protestante. Cette maison de ville, encastrée entre ses voisines, présente une avancée par rapport à l'alignement de la rue, qui se retrouve au niveau de la toiture. Sa façade sur rue présente un décor en grille à pans de bois et compartiments de briques, très individualisé dans la rue. Le mur gouttereau est organisé en deux niveaux sous combles et en trois registres verticaux. Le premier niveau a été dénaturé par des percements de baies et un enduit uniforme. Le second niveau concentre l'essentiel du décor, constitué par la large baie centrale à croisée et son appui sculpté, à colonnettes engagées. La façade devait être peinte, en partie du moins : deux médaillons sculptés sur la solive intermédiaire en conservent quelques vestiges. Une maison stylistiquement proche et démolie en 1879, permet de dater cette maison du 16e siècle.

History
The history of this building is poorly documented but is connected to a significant period for Châtillon-sur-Loire, that of the Wars of Religion, which the town experienced under Protestant influence. This town house, set between its neighbours, presents a projection from the alignment of the street, which is found at the level of the roof. Its street façade presents a decoration in a grid of timber framing and brick compartments, highly individualised in the street. The side wall is organized in two levels under roof space and in three vertical registers. The first level has been disfigured by openings of bays and uniform render. The second level concentrates the essential decoration, consisting of the wide central opening with multiple lights and its sculpted sill, with engaged small columns. The façade was to be painted, at least in part: two sculpted medallions on the intermediate beam retain some vestiges of it. A stylistically similar house demolished in 1879, allows this house to be dated to the 16th century.
