History
The castle is, in the defences of the king of Bourges on the Loire, one of the last remains of the system and the sole vestige presenting a homogeneous character. The building presents itself as a rectangle surrounded by water, pierced by a gate with drawbridge (disappeared), bartizans and machicolations. The lean-to of the outbuildings is topped by a covered way, roofed with timber framing. The gate-tower, containing the guard room, comprises bartizans and turrets.
