The seigneury is mentioned from the 14th century onwards. The château presented two towers flanking a central body, all surrounded by moats. Subsequently, two symmetrical wings closed the courtyard forming a U. In the 18th century, the architect Jean-Baptiste Collet reworked the façades of the central body, pierced the roof space with dormers and arranged the interiors. The architect concealed the medieval turrets and pierced large openings in the façade on the park side. In 1840, restoration works were conducted by the architect Courtiller. The chapel, in neo-Flamboyant style, was internally decorated by Maurice de Vaines. A model farm was built, the park redesigned and the approach avenue created. The dairy for cleanliness associated with a rustic grotto, beneath the main stable of the model farm, does not appear to be from the same period.
