Historique

History
Clinic founded in 1956 by doctor Jeangirard, fitting into the institutional psychotherapy movement that appeared after the Liberation. The principle of this movement questions institutional confinement by the integration of the patient in a network of institutional relations that allow him to establish social exchanges. The use of salvaged materials participates in the conception of Swiss architect Boiscuillé. The clinic includes a school of institutional psychiatry, as well as a branch of the special school of architecture which has the mission of studying and realising the necessary buildings. Thus constructed were a day centre-meeting hall and an occupational therapy workshop. The second programme, the Orient-Express hotel, includes a building for trainee psychotherapists, a system designed from first-class railway carriages dating from 1928.
