History
This villa is part of an ensemble of five villas built by the architect Roger-Henri Expert in Arcachon from 1924 to 1927. Situated on the edge of the ocean, the villa Thétys (named after a Greek sea goddess) is organized around a vast central rotunda room which recalls both Greek and Palladian architecture. Facing the sea on the west side, it opens on the east side onto a formal garden also designed by Expert, which blends architecture, vegetation and water features and gives this façade a more intimate aspect.
