Historique
Demeure bâtie pour le baron Pierre-Auguste Rateau au début du 19e siècle, entre 1810 et 1815. Elle constitue un bon exemple du courant néo-classique bordelais. Une grande partie du décor intérieur subsiste toujours (cheminée de la salle à manger avec gypseries...). A la fin du 19e ou au début du 20e siècle, le jardin est remodelé, remplaçant la répartition régulière par un jardin paysager. Le jardin est composé d'une vaste terrasse centrale ceinturée au nord et à l'ouest par une terrasse inférieure. Une ancienne orangerie en occupe l'angle nord-est. Une charmille bordant la partie nord témoigne du jardin régulier ancien.

History
Dwelling built for Baron Pierre-Auguste Rateau at the beginning of the 19th century, between 1810 and 1815. It constitutes a good example of the Bordeaux neo-classical current. A large part of the interior decoration still subsists (fireplace in the dining room with plasterwork...). At the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century, the garden was remodelled, replacing the regular layout with a landscape garden. The garden is composed of a vast central terrace encircled to the north and west by a lower terrace. An old orangery occupies its north-east corner. A hedge bordering the northern part testifies to the former regular garden.
