Historique
Edifiée en 1907 d'après les plans de l'ingénieur Pierre Bouchet, la halle-mairie est réalisée en béton par la firme Hennebique. A la fois moderniste dans sa construction (arcades en béton armé) et traditionnelle dans son programme, la halle est un témoin du renouvellement des programmes urbains du début du 20e siècle. La halle présente une façade antérieure sud avec avant-corps central composé d'un escalier monumental. Le bâtiment, de plan rectangulaire, repose sur dix-huit piliers fondés sur une semelle de béton armé qui, au rez-de-chaussée, délimitent l'espace de la halle. Les deux niveaux d'élévation présentent une même ordonnance d'arcades surbaissées sur les côtés longs, et d'arcades en plein cintre sur les petits côtés. History
Built in 1907 according to the plans of engineer Pierre Bouchet, the market hall-town hall is made of concrete by the firm Hennebique. At once modernist in its construction (reinforced concrete arcades) and traditional in its programme, the market hall is a witness to the renewal of urban programmes of the early 20th century. The market hall presents a south front façade with central avant-corps composed of a monumental staircase. The building, of rectangular plan, rests on eighteen pillars founded on a reinforced concrete base which, at ground floor level, delimit the space of the market hall. The two levels of elevation present the same arrangement of depressed arcades on the long sides, and round-arched arcades on the short sides. Renovated building, housing the municipal library.
