History
Longages housed a convent of women of the order of Fontevrault. The abbey was founded in the 12th century and persisted until the Revolution. Of the vast buildings, almost nothing remains. At the chevet of the church are attached the remains of a disappeared Gothic building, namely a portal composed of three voussoirs in pointed arches falling symmetrically onto three small columns surmounted by fine capitals decorated with animals, foliage and dragons.
