La tour d'Aramon, petite ville construite sur un éperon au bord du Rhône et dominée par son château, appartient à l'enceinte urbaine. Elevée au 12e siècle, elle fut sans doute étêtée au 13e, lorsque Raymond VII de Toulouse céda la Languedoc et Aramon - à saint Louis. La tour fut ensuite reprise et surélevée, comme le montrent clairement les assises de la partie supérieure, très différentes de celles de la partie inférieure. L'ensemble, extérieur et intérieur, a fait l'objet de nombreuses reprises, liées aux occupants successifs.

History
The tower of Aramon, a small town built on a spur on the bank of the Rhône and dominated by its castle, belongs to the urban fortification. Built in the 12th century, it was no doubt topped in the 13th, when Raymond VII of Toulouse ceded Languedoc and Aramon to Saint Louis. The tower was subsequently taken up and raised, as clearly shown by the courses of the upper part, very different from those of the lower part. The whole, exterior and interior, has been subject to numerous repairs, linked to successive occupants.
