La construction du temple, selon les plans de Charles Durand, est entreprise en 1811 et s'achève en 1817. L'entrée est très lisible avec un portique ajouté devant le demi-cercle, avec deux colonnes in antis entre deux pilastres, et redoublé par quatre colonnes ioniques surmontées d'un fronton triangulaire. A l'intérieur, on retrouve cet ordre ionique pour supporter les tribunes. Un clocher discret est ajouté en retrait et sur le côté. En 1864, une lanterne centrale et, plus tard, en 1867, une salle de bibliothèque viendront compléter l'ensemble qui se distingue par ses volumes purs et son authenticité.

History
The construction of the temple, according to the plans of Charles Durand, was undertaken in 1811 and completed in 1817. The entrance is very legible with a portico added in front of the semicircle, with two columns in antis between two pilasters, and redoubled by four Ionic columns surmounted by a triangular pediment. Inside, this Ionic order is found again to support the galleries. A discreet bell tower is added set back and to the side. In 1864, a central lantern and, later, in 1867, a library room came to complete the whole which is distinguished by its pure volumes and its authenticity.
