L'hôtel Colomb de Daunant fut bâti au cours des années 1880 pour l'avocat Armand Colomb de Daunant. Il s'agit d'une construction classique dont la simplicité répond à l'image de cette famille protestante. Un mur de clôture le sépare des rues environnantes. La grille située côté boulevard provient de l'église Saint-Baudile. L'hôtel est édifié selon un plan massé. La régularité de l'ensemble est légèrement altérée par la toiture à quatre pentes visible à l'angle sud. La travée centrale, en retrait, correspond à l'entrée et ne comporte qu'un étage tandis que le bâtiment d'habitation en comprend deux. L'hôtel est surélevé et un perron mène à l'entrée. Trois pièces sur un niveau occupent l'angle nord-ouest et la construction est enduite à l'exception de la base, des angles et de tous les encadrements en pierre. Les matériaux utilisés sont de qualité et un grand soin est apporté aux détails. La galerie correspondant à la travée centrale a préservé son sol de mosaïques bordé d'une frise de grecques. A côté d'un escalier à l'ouest, un salon était aménagé avec une cheminée en marbre rouge toujours visible à ce jour. Donnant sur le boulevard, se trouvaient deux salons avec cheminée en enfilade ; les cheminées n'existent plus et la cloison séparant les pièces a été abattue. Cette vaste pièce ne possède plus que les menuiseries et les huisseries d'époque, de même que les étages qui ont cependant perdu leur authenticité du fait de leur transformation en bureaux. Gravement endommagé par un incendie, l'hôtel a été démoli en août 2013.

History
The Hôtel Colomb de Daunant was built during the 1880s for the lawyer Armand Colomb de Daunant. It is a classical construction whose simplicity reflects the image of this Protestant family. A boundary wall separates it from the surrounding streets. The gate located on the boulevard side comes from the church of Saint-Baudile. The hôtel is built according to a compact plan. The regularity of the whole is slightly altered by the four-pitched roof visible at the south corner. The central bay, set back, corresponds to the entrance and has only one storey while the residential building has two. The hôtel is raised and a perron leads to the entrance. Three rooms on one level occupy the north-west corner and the construction is rendered except for the base, the corners and all the stone surrounds. The materials used are of quality and great care is taken with the details. The gallery corresponding to the central bay has preserved its mosaic floor bordered by a frieze of Greek key pattern. Next to a staircase to the west, a drawing room was arranged with a red marble fireplace still visible to this day. Facing the boulevard, there were two drawing rooms with fireplaces arranged in enfilade; the fireplaces no longer exist and the partition separating the rooms has been removed. This vast room has only retained the period joinery and door frames, as do the upper floors which have however lost their authenticity due to their conversion into offices. Seriously damaged by a fire, the hôtel was demolished in August 2013.
