Historique
Les plus anciennes mentions d'archives de cette glacière remontent à la première moitié du XVIIe siècle. Exploitée pour la production de glace, elle a notamment alimenté les familles de la notabilité bastiaise ainsi que les cafetiers de la ville. l'Exploitation de la glacière cesse à la fin du XIXe siècle. Le bâtiment est utilisé depuis comme remise agricole.
Description
L'édifice de plan allongé est formé d'un vaisseau voûté en berceau, dont les extrémités sont voûtées en cul-de-four. L'ensemble des voûtes est soutenu par un arc doubleau transversal et deux arcades longitudinales reposant sur un pilier central. A l'intérieur, deux imposants puits à neige sont creusés sur une profondeur d'environ dix mètres. Le toit à longs pans et croupes rondes est couvert de lauzes.

History
The oldest archive mentions of this ice house date back to the first half of the 17th century. Operated for ice production, it notably supplied families of note in Bastia as well as the café proprietors of the town. Exploitation of the ice house ceased at the end of the 19th century. The building has since been used as an agricultural shed.
Description
The building of elongated plan is formed of a vessel vaulted with a barrel vault, the ends of which are vaulted with a cul-de-four. All the vaults are supported by a transverse double arch and two longitudinal arcades resting on a central pillar. Inside, two imposing snow pits are dug to a depth of approximately ten metres. The roof with long slopes and round hips is covered with lauzes.
